Do you need a little encouragement as you homeschool? Are you just beginning your homeschooling journey? Since it's mid-year, would you just like to take a breather and gain some fresh perspective? If you answered "Yes!" to any or all of those questions, then you MUST download Secrets of Successful Homeschooling: You Have What it Takes to Homeschool! by Paul and Gena Suarez.
As I read the chapters by many authors that I recognized from other homeschooling resources I was inspired and encouraged. Marsha Drews encouraged me to begin my day early and never forget prayer and quiet time. Deborah Wuehler and Dena Wood (and just about every other author) reminded me that there is not one perfect way to homeschool. I am excited again to approach our little homeschool in a unique way that suits our family.
In the section "Nuts and Bolts", Dena Wood again encouraged me to approach our Math learning in new ways that would be innovative for our family. Cindy Rushton gave me new ideas for lapbooks. Crystal Paine's chapter about a home-based business was very realistic and gave me a lot of food for my prayer time. I even gleaned new approaches and attitudes from the article about Homeschooling in the UK by Jane Bullivant even though I doubt I will be conducting our little homeschool in England any time soon. It was still an article that spoke to me about my approach.
