My Face

Ok, I can't wait any longer.  I have to tell you about the product I received to review from Beeyoutiful!  I received a bottle ofLavishmint Toner and a jar of Lavishmint Moisturizing Cream in order to write this review.  And this is my favorite thing ever!  Ok, I may seem a little bit overly excited, but you have to hear my face story, then you'll understand.

I've always been what you would call "ruddy" complected.  I have rosy cheeks pretty regularly.  I rarely have acne.  My face doesn't require a lot of care.  I wash it every day and use moisturizer in the morning and at night.  I've never had many problems with my skin until about 2 years ago when I had a breakout beside my lip that just wouldn't go away.  I treated it like acne and it did not go away.  I saw a doctor about other issues and showed him the breakout.  He said it would go away and that it was probably acne.  Well, a month went by, I still had these little pimples.  At the time I was planning a 25th/50th anniversary party for my parents and my sister and her husband.  In addition to that we were having a family picture taken as a gift to our parents.  Including children, spouses, and grandchildren there are 25 members of my immediate family.  Trying to coordinate a professional photograph amongst my family was difficult to say the least.  All this to say, the time was stressful for me.  Finally, I couldn't take the breakout any longer.  I went back to our family doctor and saw another doctor in the practise.  When I showed him the breakout he said, "Oh, that's rosacea."

I asked if he was sure, and he said his daughter had it.  He knew what it looked like.  He gave me some medicine to use just when I have a breakout and within a few days I was breakout-free.  Since then I've learned alot about this condition.  I have not had a breakout like that since then, but I regularly have periods where my cheeks get really red.  As a result, sometimes my blood pressure rises, always I get a headache, and the redness is uncomfortable, sometimes painful.  I've learned to avoid certain triggers that make my face get red.  Specifically, extreme heat, high sodium/salt content, stress (no more anniversary parties for me!) and any alcohol.  I can't use anything abrasive on my face, such as scrubs, or masks that have micro-beads.  Any of those facial scrubbers are a no-no for me also.

When I was given the opportunity to review a product from BeeYoutiful, I leapt at the chance to try the LavishMint Toner and Moisturizer.  I was anxious to see how these face products worked with my rosacea.  The first day I used it, I immediately found the toner to be very refreshing.  It comes in a pump spray bottle.  So you mist your face with this toner.  I was using a cotton ball to rub my previous toner on my face.  I LOVE the mist!  It's cooling and smells lightly of lavender.  It's not an overpoweriing smell at all.  I let my face dry for a few minutes and then I opened up the moisturizer.  It is a very thin consistancy and a light pink color that's just lovely.  Like the toner, the moisturizer smells faintly but not overpoweringly of lavender.  I was really surprised when I applied the moisturizer to my face.   It's hard to expain but you can feel the mint on your face.  It is cooling and refreshing.  The bottle says that it is good for use on sunburn and I can see how it would be.  It gave you a fresh, cool feeling.

I have used the lavishmint toner and conditioner everyday, usually twice a day, for a month, and I haven't even used of either product yet.  Usually when I switch to a new face product I get acne until my face gets used to it.  I never had a breakout while using Lavishmint.

At $14 for the toner and $12 for the moisturizer, these products are priced very competitively with good products you would find at a drugstore or department store.  BeeYoutiful has many other products as well.  And their catalogue is like reading a good magazine.  It's full of little stories and articles, even recipes!

And my rosacea?  I love hot-hot showers.  Do you remember what one of my triggers is?  Heat.  Sometimes when I come out of the shower, my cheeks are a bit inflamed.  Now, usuing the Lavishmint toner and moisturizer, my cheeks get cooled down immediately.  It is just lovely.

Please check out the reviews of my fellow crew-mates about BeeYoutiful.   Not everyone reviewed the Lavishmint products, so if you check out the other reviews, you may see something else from BeeYoutiful that you would like to purchase.
