I'm Joining Fit Mommy

One of my crew-friends has a blog meme called "Fit Mommy Friday" and she has laid down the gauntlet.  It's the Fit Mommy 10-week challenge

Here's how it works:

The challenge runs from today (Monday, October 25, 2010) until December 31, 2010.

You set a goal for yourself.

You check in regularly and post your results.

On the 31st you give your final results and a winner is selected who achieves their goal.

So, here I go.  I'm going to post everything out here for you in the cyber-world to see.  I'm calling it accountability.  Please be kind.

I am 43 years old.

As of this morning on Wii fit+, I weigh 229.9 pounds.  (on a positive note, I was 27 years old in my Wii fit+ age!)

My goal is to weigh at least 15 pounds less by December 31st.  That is about 1.5 pounds a week, which I think is realistic.

I will meet my goal by counting all my calories daily.  My goal is 1600 calories.   I will drink 8 glasses of water a day and take my vitamins each day.  I plan to exercise using Wii Fit+ 5 out of 7 days a week.

I would appreciate your prayers and encouragement.  I actually did lose a little weight at the beginning of the Summer.  I was surprised to see that after almost 2 months off the Wii I had only gained 5 pounds back.  So that is a bit of encouragement.

Well there it is for all the world to know.  I'm going to post, at least weekly, results of my efforts.  Stay tuned...

  1. It is so hard to put it all out there, isn't it? I haven't had the courage yet, but I am working on it. We can do this!

  2. I so need to get back on the Wii fit, but I can't seem to get myself motivated. Before Sue died, I was working out on it in the early morning hours while everyone else was still in bed. Then, I just lost it and I don't even want to get out of bed these days!

  3. Well, my most recent problem is that I get up and weigh in but then shut it down so that I can get ahead on work before everyone is out of bed! So I need to get motivated to work out again too! Over the summer I was up to almost an hour a day. Now, I get most of my exercise running up and down the basement steps doing laundry. -lll
